Four teams in Themeli tournament

 

Four teams will participate in the Themeli Heritage Soccer Tournament at the Madombidzha Try Again grounds on Saturday.

The organiser, Mr Maanda Themeli, said that identifying future stars' talent at grassroots level was important. He applauded the sponsors for helping to identify the talent of the region's youth.

He appealed to the club officials and players not to involve themselves in wrongdoings such as bribery and assault on referees, saying that would not only bring the tournament into disrepute but it would also dent the image of the sponsor.

Madombidzha Arsenal will take on Madombidzha Try Again at 09:30. The match will be followed by the contest between Rockers FC vs Madombidzha Western Stars. The winners of the first two matches will meet in the final, which will be placed at 15:30.

The two teams which will reach the final will be presented the soccer kit, floating trophy, medals and cash prizse.

When asked about their level of readiness for the tournament, the spokesperson of Madombidzha Arsenal, Mr Willy Mudau, said they were ready for whatever heat they might come across in the tournament. According to the manager of the Madombidzha Western Stars, Mr John Moshokwa, everything is going well with their preparations and that the team had been training hard.

Madombidzha Try Again’s coach, Mr Scara Phathel,a expressed his joy with the team's performance. He added that their preparations were well underway “and my boys are looking forward to this challenge,” he added. Mr Mukondi Tshivhula of Rockers said that boys must master the art of concentration and focus. “I have therefore prepared them mentally not to make simple mistakes.”
