Eight teams in Nefale Tournament

 

Eight teams from Tshilamba and the surrounding areas will be engaged in the MI Nefale Annual Soccer tournament this weekend.

The teams that are gearing up for the annual event are: Tshandama Try Together, Phalama Young Vultures, Lukau Hot Aces, Lukau FC, Tshilavulu Elite, Mulodi Freedom Birds, Mulodi Young Santos and Thengwe Flying Peace.

All matches will be played at the Phalama grounds. According to one of the organizers of the tournament, Mr Ronewa Nenzhelele, the quarter-final matches will be played tomorrow (Saturday) while the semi-finals and final will be played next Tuesday, September 24.

Nenzhelele added that this year’s champions will take home R6 000, a soccer kit, two soccer balls, gold medals and a floating trophy. The runners-up will receive R4 500, soccer kit, silver medals and two soccer balls.

The teams booted out of the tournament in the semi-final stage will each receive R3 500 and two soccer balls, while the remaining teams will each go home with R2 000 and two soccer balls.

The quarter-final fixtures are: Tshandama Try Together vs Phalama Young Vultures, Thengwe Flying Peace vs Lukau Hot Aces, Mulodi Freedom Birds vs Tshilavulu Elite and Lukau FC vs Mulodi Young Santos.

Thengwe Flying Peace are the defending champions.
