Silverware for Black Aces

 

The Kutama soccer challenge for teams that play in the Safa Vhembe SAB and Makhado Local Football (Malfa) leagues was won by Manavhela Black Aces and Madodonga Manyeleti FC last Sunday.

In the division for SAB teams, Manavhela Black Aces beat Zamenkomste FC 2-1 in the final. Manyeleti were too strong for Zamenkomste Happy Boys and beat them 2-1 in the final of Malfa. The matches took place at the Zamenkomste grounds.

The organiser, Mr Itani “Kwaito” Mamafha, praised the team managers and players for their dedication and commitment during their matches. Mamafha added that the sponsorship money would increase in due course.

Mamafha said that his aim in funding sport was to develop rural young people and keep the youth busy in a productive way. He applauded the coordinators for the way the competition was run.

The coordinator of the tournament, Mr Rodney Tshidada, appealed to businesspeople to follow in the footsteps of Mamafha. He added that the youth must participate in the different sporting codes available.

Black Aces and Manyeleti each received R2 000, gold medals, new soccer-kits and a floating trophy. The two runners-up, Zamenkomste FC and Zamenkomste Happy Boys, and went home with R1 500, soccer kits and silver medals.

Kaizer Nengovhela
