TTM and United on the warpath

After watching the Absa Premiership League match between Black Leopards and Kaizer Chiefs at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon, local soccer fanatics will have the privilege to watch another top-class football game at the same venue on Sunday. That is where Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will host Mbombela United in their GladAfrica Championship League match.

The spirit is high in the camp of both TTM and Mbombela after they had registered convincing victories in their matches last weekend. United rose to the occasion and crushed the University of Pretoria 4-0 at the Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit last Saturday. At the same time, TTM were walloping Royal Eagles 5-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

Should they manage to collect the maximum at the expense of Mbombela on Sunday, TTM are likely to jump from the sixth to the third position on the log standings. TTM’s performance improved dramatically after the appointment of the team’s new head coach, Mr Vladislav Heric.

Masibusane Zongo, TTM’s new signee, is likely to make his debut appearance in the starting 11 on Sunday. Should he be given a chance, Zongo is expected to form a deadly combination with Wonderboy Makhubu, Thembisani Nevhulamba, Philip Ndlondlo and Mboniseni Mbandlwa in the striking force.

The KZN derby between Richards Bay and Uthongathi FC will be staged at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. Royal Eagles will host Cape Umoya United at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.

The title chasers, JDR Stars, will entertain TS Galaxy at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, while the University of Pretoria will have a date with Free State Stars at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria.

Real Kings and Steenberg United will meet at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban, while Swallows FC and Jomo Cosmos will fight for league points at the Dobsonville Stadium.
