Local mountain bikers can start preparing for the popular annual Makhulu 5 MTB Race on 18 February.

Mall of the North will once again play host to the event, with the race doubling as a Limpopo colours qualifier. Online entries can be made by visiting www.mallofthenorth.co.za and will close on 13 February. Late entries take place at the Mall of the North Food Court from 17:30 to 19:00 on 17 February and 06:00 to 07:00 on 18 February. The first 200 entrants will receive a goodie bag, while all finishers will receive a medal.

There will be a 64km marathon, starting at 07:30 (entry R220 per person), 37km half-marathon at 07:45 (entry R180), 15km fun ride at 08:00 (entry R60) and kiddies ride at 11:00 (free for all children’s club members 3 to 7 years). The cut-off time for all races is 12:00 and CSA rules will apply.
