With 1 August marking the beginning of Women's Month, women and gender non-conforming people (GNC) from all sectors of Limpopo and other provinces will take to the streets in protest of gender-based violence. Lesotho and Botswana will also form part of the mass action.

"We call on all women and GNC people to stay away from work and join the protest in their respective provinces, universities and colleges," the organisers said.

As part of the protest, a memorandum of demands will be handed over to the Thulamela Municipality on the day of the planned protest. All information about the protest action will be shared during the week. The starting point for the planned march is the Thohoyandou Stadium and it will finish at the Thulamela Municipality.
