Robert Muedi of Tshidzivhe has just released his debut album, Calvary.
The album, which is marketed and distributed by Ndiene Music, comprises 12 thrilling songs which include hits like Calvary, Ri a livhuwa, Duvha Lokovhela and Ipfi La Mudzimu.
The album is doing well commercially and has already started receiving huge airplay on community, regional and national radio stations. “I am very happy and proud of the way in which my album is being received by my fans out there. This is a true reflection that my music is mature and appeals to all age groups," Muedi said.
He grew up listening to famous musicians likes Vuyo Mokoena, Robson Rambuwani, Roxley Masevhe and many more, and he said he drew inspiration from them.
“Recording the album was not easy,” said Muedi. Despite having plenty of songs readily available, he had to fund the project himself. In order to enhance his writing and composition skills, he took piano lessons. "My career I started as a dancer and backing vocalist for several artists and groups around Vhembe." He started to work with the disabled Selina Musobi and after each performance, "impressed fans asked me to record my own album. I finally bowed to the pressure and recorded this one. I therefore encourage young people who want to venture into the music industry to seek an education first. They will also have something to fall back on if their music careers are not doing well.”
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
