The reggae-gospel singer Jah Lady will launch her much-awaited new DVD at Highway in Madombidzha village on Saturday.
The launch has attracted a dozen artists in the reggae genre who will be supporting her. It will be a day and night of song and more music. The event starts at 14:00.
Jah Lady dropped a reggae album earlier this year, entitled Ndi do mu gwadamela. According to people who have already bought and listened to the album, Jah Lady gives her all as she takes listeners to greener pastures with her velvety voice.
“I will be launching the DVD, which will comprise all the songs contained on Ndi do mu gwadamela,” she said, “such as Holy Spirit, Give me power, Vho hangwa u livhuwa, Ndu wale tshifhambano, Shango ndi la Mudzimu, and Khotsi anga.”
Even though Ndi do mu gwadamela is Jah Lady’s first reggae album, some of her previous songs contained elements of the genre. “I love the genre and my social circles include the Rastas and those who love this music,” she said.
The artists who will perform during the launch include BlackJahman, Malondolo, Tshidino Ndou, Mariana, Adziambei Band, Corner Stone, Chris Thiba, RasFinger, David Mmbi, Jininka, Mashudu Nematoka, King Mlatiro and many more.
Her previous albums include Baxolele Nkosi (2009) and Murena He Vha Vula Hone (2014).
