Top musicians impress during Makhado annual show

The Makhado annual show proved this year that, among other goals, it also strove to foster a sense of unity and nationhood in the Makhado region and the country.

The show was held during the past weekend at the Makhado municipal show grounds in Louis Trichardt.

Excellent singers who entertained show lovers came from different parts of the country, across languages and cultural backgrounds.

The show was well attended by people from all areas in and around Makhado, and the fans indicated that they enjoyed music performances by both emerging and established artists.

Muofhe and her band, Colbert Mukwevho, Georgie Premjee and Kumar Premjee, and Malondolo did live performances, to the delight of fans.

The highly talented Muofhe said that she appreciated the space the Makhado Municipality gave to artists to meet their fans through music. “What a great show!” she said. “It was a great opportunity for local artists to come together and meet their fans. We were at our best, I believe. The show has always given us an opportunity to grow.”

Malondo said that the show had gone well and that she was happy that the fans and all music lovers appreciated the music. "I was so happy to notice that people still loved my music," she said. "I even saw the young people shouting my lyrics and dancing. It was good."
