Thabelo Netshiunda celebrates her awards with husband Robert Netshiunda.

More accolades for Thabelo

Hardly a month after winning the Best Gospel Artist and the Best Female Artist awards at the Tshivenda Music Awards (TSHIMA), local gospel sensation Thabelo Netshiunda has been awarded three more accolades.

Thabelo won the Best Worship Album, Best Female Artistt and Best Gospel Artist of the Year at the Gauteng Gospel Music Awards (GGMA), which were held at the Market Theatre Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg, last Saturday night.

The Wa vhuthu O ri tondaho hit maker has won a total of six awards in just four months, following the release of her live recorded album entitled His Glory. In August this year, she won her very first award for the Best Gospel Album of the Year at the Independent National Gospel Music Awards (INGOMA).

She stated that she had achieved all her success because of the strength that God gave her, as well as dedication and hard work.

“I gave it my all when we recorded His Glory,” she said. “I had many critics and that motivated me to strive for the best. I did not have a point to prove, but I wanted to challenge myself and be an example that no one should despise the days of small beginnings. I am now the happiest woman alive, and I thank God for keeping me and choosing me to minister to his people through a song.”

Meanwhile, Thabelo runs her own foundation, the Thabelo Netshiunda Foundation, which strives to restore humanity and dignity to youths by training upcoming gospel artists and through mentorship programmes.
