Bridget writes a book to motivate young people

The 21-year-old Mushayathoni Bridget Nwovhe has recently released her motivational book, Dream Beyond The Slumber. She describes it as a powerful message to motivate young people in Africa.

Nwovhe said that the idea to write a motivational book stemmed from an earlier poem she wrote, Dream Beyond The Slumber. This poem was included in her first anthology, Calendars Time. “People always say a dream is the vision of the night, but a dream is that which pressures slumber,” she added.

“I want people to be hungry to dream and hungry to excel. One day your potential will reward you with property as long as you are dreaming beyond the slumber,” she said.

Nwovhe’s talent became visible when she was still in primary school. She was born and raised in Makonde village, Limpopo. “I write to inspire people. I always want to connect to humanity in everything I do,” she added. She further said that she draws her inspiration from an international renowned author, Maya Angelou.

She aspires to start her own publishing company where she will help young writers to unwrap their dreams. She encouraged aspiring authors to be dedicated and committed. “The best resource is the power of your mind. No man can stop you unless you decide to. Learn to trust the dynamic inside of you,” she said.

Mbulaheni Ridovhona

The 22-year-old Mbulaheni (Gary) Ridovhona has been passionate about journalism to the extent that he would buy himself a copy of weekly Univen students' newsletter, Our Voice. After reading, he would write stories about his rural village, Mamvuka, and submit them to the very newsletter for publication. His deep-rooted love for words and writing saw him register for a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies at the University of Venda, and joined the Limpopo Mirror team in February 2016 as a journalism intern.
