Close to 800 Sunday school children will march from P&L in Shayandima to the satellite police station to present a memorandum against Women and Children Violence tomorrow (Saturday).
According to a statement by the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) communication unit, the march will be led by the AFM national Sunday school president, Adv Sam Tshabalala, the Soutpansberg regional chairperson, Dr A Maanzwane, regional Sunday school chairpersons Rev Beatrice Makgoba (Capricorn and Sekhukhune), Rev Maanzhi (Vhembe), Rev S Chauke (Mopane) and Sunday school children from all over Limpopo.
According to Tshabalala, the march happens just before one of the largest Sunday school graduations ever seen in this region. “As one of the largest pentecostal churches in South Africa, we have realised the value of children in our society. We are building a future church with future leaders who should grow up respecting their parents and living within the perfect moral fibre,” Thabalala said.
He added that the invitation had been extended to members of the church who are graduates to bring their graduation gowns. “Our aim is also to exhort the youth to study hard. Most of them will be going to universities next year; what better way to motivate them?”
Rev Mannzhi, the regional coordinator of the Sunday school, said it would be the first time that such an event took place in the area. “We hope we will be able to repeat this next year, if the national office gives us an opportunity to host it”.
