Dynamos and Stars in NFD clash

News  Date: 09 December 2011

The fight for promotion and to avoid relegation at the end of the season will continue among the teams campaigning under the banner of the National First Division this weekend.

Dynamos will lock horns with Sevutsa Stars at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Dynamos must win the match in order to remain in the contest for the league championship. A victory for Stars will push them out of the relegation zone.

In another NFD match on Sunday, Witbank Spurs will host Blackburn Rovers at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank. Spurs are languishing at the bottom of the log, while Blackburn Rovers are one of the contenders for the league title.

The University of Pretoria's team is almost sure of victory this weekend. They will play against Atlie FC in what the soccer fanatics have described as “the war between David and Goliath”. Atlie are battling to collect points and their chances for surviving the relegation axe at the end of the season are fast becoming slim. The match will be played at the Sinaba Stadium in Johannesburg.

Thanda Royal Zulu will host FC Cape Town at the Richards Bay Stadium; Mpumalanga Black Aces will meet United FC at the De Beers Stadium in Kimberley; African Warriors will host Vasco da Gama at the Charles Mopedi Stadium and Bay United and FC AK will rub shoulders at the Seshego Stadium.

In the only match that will be played this evening, Chippa United will entertain Carara Kicks at the Philipi Stadium in Cape Town.
