THOHOYANDOU - Disgrace looms at the Mphaphuli Royal Council, as the third kingship contender, Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli, was stopped by an interdict from the Thohoyandou High Court from addressing the residents of Lambani Village during the Festive Season.
Although Gole Mphaphuli’s mission was to encourage the Lambani villagers to participate in the 2004 election, to avoid drink and driving, Chief Mbofheni Lambani feared that Gole Mphaphuli’s errand was to remove him from the throne and install two new chiefs from the Mphaphuli dynasty. Chief Mbofheni Lambani seeked an interdict from the Thohoyandou High Court to bar Thovhele Gole Mphaphuli from entering Lambani Village.
The portion of land from Sibasa, across the Luvuvhu River and up to the Kruger National Park, still falls under the Mphaphuli dynasty and other chiefs wonder why Chief Mbofheni Lambani acted like that before his superior, since Lambani himself is a subordinate of Mphaphuli. It is alleged that one of the men who is going to be installed as chief of the Lambani Village is the spokesperson of the Mphaphuli dynasty, Mr Magwedzha Mphaphuli.
