MAKHADO (LOUIS TRICHARDT) – No traffic will be allowed in Vorster Street between Burger and Krogh Street for a period of seven days while the surface of the road is being repaired for the second time.

Mega Rank Joint Ventures is repairing this portion again at a cost of approximately R180 000. Drivers are warned not to use this part of Vorster Street. The road surface is being covered with cement and has to reach a certain level of compact stability. The road surface will then be primed with an emulsion mixture and will later be sealed. The whole process takes about seven days and no traffic can use it, in order to prevent further damage. The process should be completed by the middle of next week.

Mr Seth da Gama, the site agent, warned drivers that they could be sued for using the road during the curing period of seven days. On Tuesday (18th), which was the first day of the process, a bus driver was seen angrily insisting on turning the corner of Vorster and Burger Streets, although construction had already started. The cooperation of all drivers is vital to the success of the construction.
