Emmanuel Christian School in Louis Trichardt is very proud of two of its Grade 11 students.
The two students, Phophi Silinda and Andy Thovhakale, represented the country at the Student/Teacher International Conference hosted by the Global Travel and Tourism Partnership (GTTP) in November last year and managed to bring home the GTTP trophy.
GTTP is a multi-country educational program to introduce students to career opportunities in travel and tourism. Schools from Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Russia and the United Kingdom attended the conference.
During the conference, Phophi and Andy’s presentation was nominated as one of the top four presentations. Last year was also the first time ever that a Limpopo school had won a GTTP competition. As prize, Phophi and Andy, as well as their tourism teacher, Mrs Muralda van der Nest, won a trip to Europe.
