Suicide following quarrel with grandpa over missing cattle

News  Date: 16 January 2012

A 16 year-old boy from Mugaladivha village outside Beit Bridge committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree, following a quarrel with his grandfather over missing cattle, police have said.

Supt Conrad Manhai of the local police said the incident recently occurred at Mugaladivha village. "After the disagreement with his grandfather over missing cattle, he was then sent to go and look for the family cattle in the local grazing area. He went to the bush on the pretext that he was going to look for the cattle, but committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree branch with a rope,” he said.

He added that they suspected no foul play and the post mortem was waived.
