Police have arrested three men for their alleged involvement in the vicious attack on the well-known Noor family of Louis Trichardt.

Matome Andries Letsoalo (39), Epeton Rikhotso (27) and Rudolph Marakalala (20) were arrested last Thursday and Friday.

Few can forget the attack on Mr Solly Noor and his wife Zohra in February of last year. During the attack, Mr Noor was brutally beaten over the head by one of the robbers.

The incident occurred when a group of robbers managed to overpower the guards outside the Noor residence in Eltivillas. When Mr Noor went to check up on the guards, one of the robbers started to hit him over the head with a gun. Mrs Noor was also hit in the process of trying to protect her husband.

The robbers managed to escape with cell phones and jewellery which they took from the Noor residence.

Letsoalo, Rikhotso and Marakalala appeared in the Louis Trichardt District Court on single counts of housebreaking with intent and attempted murder. The trio will remain in custody for another seven days in order for the police to arrange an identification parade. The Zoutpansberger can therefore not publish their photos yet. They will appear in court on 7 March.
