A must win for Black Leopards

News  Date: 16 March 2012

Black Leopards must collect maximum league points on Sunday if they are really serious about escaping the relegation axe at the end of the season. They will host Platinum Stars at the Giyani Stadium.

Both Platinum Stars and Lidoda Duvha are fighting for survival.

Leopards' chairman, Mr David Thidiela, is adamant that his team will not be relegated at the end of the season. He assured the team’s supporters that the team will be out of danger before long.

Leopards will have nobody to blame if they lose the match. Things are moving from bad to worse in the Stars’ camp. They recently suspended the team’s head coach, Mr Owen da Gama, following a string of poor results. It will be time for the former Leopards midfielder, Robert Ngambi, to show his former employers that they committed suicide by releasing him early this season.

Leopards and Platinum Stars played to a 2-2 draw in their first-round league match at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg six months ago. Leopards’ fast forward, Rodney Ramagalela, is likely to pass a late fitness test and form part of the starting lineup on Sunday. Ramagalela sustained an ankle injury in their game against Blackburn Rovers at the Giyani Stadium last Saturday evening.

The other PSL match that will also be played on Sunday will be between Bloemfontein Celtic and Santos. The six matches that will be played tomorrow afternoon are: Orlando Pirates vs Kaizer Chiefs, Bidvest Wits vs Free State Stars, Ajax Cape Town vs Mamelodi Sundowns, Golden Arrows vs Maritzburg United, Moroka Swallows vs Amazulu and Supersport United vs Jomo Cosmos.
