TSHAKHUMA - Six sub-headmen were installed at Tshakhuma Village, 17km from Thohoyandou last Friday.

The Acting Mayor of Makhado Municipality, Cllr Phineas Muladi said the presence of government officials was an indication of the commitment and dedication on the part of the government, to show respect and recognition to the Traditional Leadership.

Muladi advised the new headmen to be more involved in poverty alleviation projects, in the fight against HIV-Aids and also to encourage the community to respect the dignity of women and children.

Chief Andries Madzivhandila said he would install two more headmen in order to have good control at the Tshakhuma village. He further said that he wants to buy a farm where new building sites would be erected for the new generation. He also encouraged the Levubu farmers to employ more labourers from Tshakhuma so that the growing number of unemployment is reduced in the village.
