HA-MAVHUNGA -

It is alleged that the murder was performed for muti purposes. In a statement the police say that when the four realised that somebody saw them, they vanished into the nearby bushes and left Mrs Makwarela Ramaphupha (53) for death at the scene.

Commuters found her early the next morning and she was taken to the Pietersburg Hospital. Doctors assessed her and then sent her back to the Siloam hospital where she died.

Inspector Abel Thavhana told Mirror that she mentioned the name of five persons before she died.

Dzanani police have arrested four, Elias Ramatsitsi (48, a teacher), Nyamukamadi Khwalu (47), Sarah Ntsauba (49), Jane Tshivenya (48), while one suspect is still at large. The police say that the suspect is probably in the Gauteng province and will be arrested soon.

The other four were granted bail of R5 000 each and the case was postponed to November 28, 2002 for further investigations
