MAKWARELA – Community members of Makwarela are still reeling from the shock they received last weekend, when two couples were found in pools of blood in different instances.
Police spokesperson Captain Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said they were also baffled by the horrific incidents that left the community shaking in disbelief. Mushavhanamadi said a couple was found in a pool of blood on Sunday morning, at about 05:00 in a street at Makwarela. "Avhashoni Rasilingwane (38) was found lying at a corner fence with multiple stab wounds while her lover, David Mudau (43) was also found lying in a pool of blood nearby.
Mudau who sustained serious stab wounds was said to be in a critical condition at Tshilidzini Hospital during the time of going to press.
Meanwhile, another couple was found dead with stab wounds in Makwarela at a house belonging to one well-known businessman, Dabishi Magwaba. According to Mushavhanamadi the dead couple is Zwivhadinangani Dabishi (27) and Jan Mbogo (46). Mbogo was a member of the South African National Defence Force.
He said that the bodies of this couple also had multiple stab wounds and were in a pool of blood. He further said that relatives of the couple broke into the house after becoming suspicious because the couple was not seen for some few days.
Mushavhanamadi said one of the house windows was broken, and they suspect that the murderer might have broken into the house through the window. He said they suspect that the incident might have happened on Saturday, as there was a bad smell in the house on Monday morning.
Mushavhanamadi said they were very concerned about the incidents. "As the police, we have a concern about these incidents. We appeal to anybody who might have any information that can help us to make arrests. We also appeal to the community to help us if they know any person who might be in possession of an unlicensed firearm or who plays with a gun at Makwarela. As the police we are busy with our investigations and information that we are following is very vital in such a way that we cannot reveal it until such time when we make arrests," said Mushavhanamadi.
