THOHOYANDOU - The Students Representatives Council (SRC) elections at the University of Venda for Science and Technology has brought great joy for Sasco, as the candidates from Sasco beat the Azasco candidates for the first time since 1996 in a Univen SRC election.

The election took place last Thursday and Friday.

The SRA (Student Representative Assembly) will be led by Rudzani "Shoes" Moshoeu (25). The other members of his "cabinet" are Surprise Khwiyane (secretary general), Room Mdaka (external president), Veli Lubusi (internal president) the Academic Transformation Officer is Ali Mafish, the Treasurer General is Lerato Nagena and the Projects and Campaign Officer is Kgabo Kganyaka. The other members are Rudzani Lihaiwa (deputy secretary), Rudzani Mugeri (financial aid officer) and Ishmael Foroma (transformation officer).

Moshoeu told Mirror that Sasco has managed to achieve its greatest goal, which was to win the elections. The aspirations and interests of the majority of students who supported the organisation should be correctly represented and served without any reservation," said Moshoeu, a third year BCom Accounting student from Nzhelele Ha-Makatu.

He has been the chairperson of Univen School of Business from 1999 to 2000 and in 2001 he became the treasurer of the SRC.
