News  Date: 28 May 2004

SASELEMANI – Three men were sentenced to three years each for stock theft in the Saselemani Periodical Court last Friday. This follows an incident that took place at the Ngezimani village near Saselemani during the night of April 5 this year.

The court heard that, during the night of the incident, the police received information that there were people who were slaughtering two cattle at the Ngezimani dipping tank. The police proceeded to the scene and caught the trio red-handed while they were busy slaughtering stolen cattle.

They appeared in the same court two days after their arrest and the case was postponed to last Friday, when it was finalised. They were each sentenced to three years in jail without the option of fine.

The three thieves are Mdunwazi George Mashaba (35) of Nhlaveni Village, Marvin Prince Maceke (23) of Ngezimani Village and Curtle Maluleke (26) of Ngezimani Village.
