A deaf man was allegedly beaten to death while drinking locally brewed traditional Mutomboti beer at Ha-Madzhiga village in the Mashau area last Saturday.

According to W/O Solly Mukhola of the Levubu police, it is alleged that Mr Kenny Mohale (31) was relaxing when a 19-year-old man attacked him and beat him to death. It is suspected that the two had had differences in the past.

Mukhola added that the police had opened a case of murder, following the incident, and that their investigations were continuing.

He added that the police managed to arrest Mukhethwa Tshifhango in connection with the case last Sunday. Tshifhango appeared in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and the case was postponed. He remains in custody.
