MULENZHE - Headman Azwinndini Lawrence Mulindathavha Tshinetise (50), was installed as the new headman (Gota) of Dovheni ha Piet Booi, during a ceremony a fortnight ago.
Tshinetise is a well-educated headman and is employed by the Thulamela Municipality as the head of Technical Services Department, which specialises in roads, bridges and water services within the Thulamela Municipality. He is a happily married man blessed with six children.
Headman Tshinetise told Mirror that the Tshinetise clan originated as Mboyi family during the 1900's in the Mulenzhe settlement. He further said that their forefathers included Matinga-Tshiulu, Mulindathavha, Tshinetise and Mmbedengwena Gota Tshinetise who is the forth of the ten children of the late Mr Tshinetise Daniel Ramavhoya. Chief TJ Ramovha advised the new headman to be careful in order to meet the needs of the community in co-operation with the government.
The Chief further stated that the development in the community is progressing. "The big dam, roads and modern houses have been built and some are to be built soon. The Mulenzhe Development Trust is committed to upgrading the lives of members of the Dovheni community in as far as sanitation, schools and crime prevention are concerned, said the Chief. He also urged the new Chief to work together with the Municipality and the Civic association.
"I still want those golden days where residents brewed traditional (Mutomboti/Mahafhe) beer. When they bring some to Musanda, the community will sit down and enjoy themselves without any interference. I am talking about the time when fellow citizens would be able to talk freely about problems they experienced," he said.
Chief AM Madzivhandila of Tshakhuma and Vhamusanda Vho-ED Netshivhulana also addressed the ceremony.
The audience was entertained by Tshikona traditional dancing from the host, Malamangwa, Malende from Dovheni as well as a performance by the Tshino Lotsha Sisters.
