NZHELELE - It is unlikely to find women rulers in the VhaVenda tradition, but on Sunday Thovhele Kennedy Midiyavhathu Tshivhase wiped out this practice when he installed two women and a man as Chiefs at Dopeni village.

About five thousand villagers ululated during the installation of Mrs Mutshinyalo and Mrs Tshiila both from the Ralinala clan and Mr Philemon Matshidza as Chiefs. Mr Matshidza will rule over the Tshiumoni section.

Chief Mashudu Muelekanyi Tshivhase said the Tshivhase Dynasty has a vision of rebuilding the economy and education in the Tshivhase area. The Tshivhase Foundation Development Trust was established and two schools have been built at Tshivhase and Mphephu areas. These secondary schools cost five million each.

Thovhele Kennedy Tshivhase said the three new Chiefs must co-operate with Chief Ralinala and work according to the Tshivhase vision.

Thovhele said installing women as chiefs shows that they are part of this country.
