A local businessmen, Mr Moses Malada, has honoured his late father by starting a foundation in his name.

Malada announced that he was starting a foundation, the Rev TJ Malada Foundation, during the celebration of his 40th birthday, held at Makonde a fortnight ago. During the event, Malada also announced that he was donating a steel structure for the building of the local ZCC church, which was led by his father. The structure will accommodate more than 3 000 people.

Malada also announced that he would renovate the library of Raluvhimba Secondary School at Makonde village.

Better known as Moss, Malada has used the income from his businesses, which also include a security firm, to help the needy.

He said he decided to start a foundation in his father's name to honour the "father who brought me up with love." He added that his mother, Thivhungwi, and father, Johannes, were very poor, “but they gave us love and advice that helped me to be where I am today."

Speaker after speaker hailed Moss as a down-to earth person, who remains humble despite his success. During the event, Malada handed certificates of commitment to the beneficiaries of the projects he is sponsoring.
