THOHOYANDOU - The Chancellor of the University of Venda for Science and Technology (Univen), Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, will confer degrees to successful candidates during the Spring Graduation ceremony tomorrow morning.
From 09:00, about 180 graduates will receive their degrees from the Schools of Agriculture, Rural Development and Forestry, Environment Sciences and Engineering, Health Sciences, management and Law, Mathematical and Natural Sciences and Human and Social Sciences.
According to the university spokesperson, Mr Mmbangiseni Masia, Dr Olive Sishana, Executive Director on Social Aspects of HIV/Aids and Health at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) will address academics, graduates and parents during the ceremony.
Masia said it is the view of the University that the graduates will go all out to make a contribution in the economy of the country and most importantly, play a role in the development of their communities. "The University joins parents and guardians in celebrating the success of the graduates, some of whom had to struggle financially and otherwise for their success. The industry is also called upon to take advantage and make use of the graduates from the University of Venda for Science and Technology who have a reputation to do well in the job market," said Masia.
