MANDIWANA – The Thohoyandou High Court last Friday sentenced a 40-year-old Nzhelele man to 12 years imprisonment for a murder that took place at Mandiwana Village on June 6 this year.
The court heard how the suspect, Ntshavheni Albert Nelushu (40), gunned down his former wife.
According to Inspector Ndidzulafhi Masiagwala the suspect went to the deceased's home and knocked at the door. The victim, Mrs Ntungufhadzeni Rathiyaya (32) peeped through the window and saw her ex-husband outside. She became frightened and tried to flee for her life. She was shot in the breast and died instantly.
The court sentenced the suspect to 12 years imprisonment.
The judge said that his judgement would send a clear message to people out there that no one has the right to kill other people.
