NZHELELE – The Dzanani SAPS have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of Insp Adam Nditsheni Davhana (42) who was shot and killed at Tshituni during the past month.

Police spokesperson Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi said they have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with Davhana's death. Community members joined hands with the police up to the point of arresting the first suspect, who was apprehended at his home at Makhado/Tshituni.

It is alleged that the suspect had a death list with names of police officers that were supposed to be killed, and the first victim was the late Insp Davhana.

The suspect will appear in the Thohoyandou Regional Court soon.

Mushavhanamadi slammed the killing of police officers and said that the police's investigation will leave no stone unturned. Davhana was laid to rest at Tshituni Village in a funeral service honoured by police officers from different SAPS Police stations in the province.
