SIBASA – Thohoyandou Victim Empowerment (TEV) will be celebrating Arbour Week in style, as they will be planting five trees for the victims of domestic violence.
Ms Fancy Malapela, shelter manager at TEV, said they have decided to do something for the victims of domestic violence so that they must not feel neglected. The trees will be planted next to the TEV offices in Sibasa, today (Friday) at 09:00. Malapela said they wanted to give hope to the victims of domestic violence, some of whom will be there.
"As an Non-Governmental Organisation that deals with victims of domestic violence who visit us on a daily basis, we thought is better to organize something to give them hope. We do not want them to see themselves as victims, but as courageous people who have a bright future in life. We also want this function to be a yearly event," said Malapela.
