Trophies for region's best drivers

THOHOYANDOU- The best drivers in the regional competition were awarded trophies during a competition that was held at the Thohoyandou Stadium parking area on Saturday. The regional Department of Public Transport staged the competition.

The bus category was won by Mr M Tshivhase from the Enos Bus Service Company. Mr RA Sikhweni of the Great North Transport obtained the second position in this category while Mr AS Musinyali obtained the third place.

Mr Hezekiel Nevhutalu won the articulated truck section. He is an employee of the South African Bottling Company. Mr AP Ravele finished in the second place. An employee of the Omega Bus Service Company Mr HP Mhlangwane obtained the third position.

Mr MS Mutswana won the rigid truck category. Mr Mutswana works for the Department of Public Works. Mr TP Ramanyimi of the Sandberg Transport, followed in the second place. Mr Alfred Nelwamondo from Vhavenda Bricks Company obtained the third position in this truck category.

The top three drivers in each category were awarded trophies. The driver who scored the highest marks in the bus category was Mr M Tshivhase. He was given another trophy for his achievement. The overall winner for the competition was Mr Hezekiel Nevhutalu. He was also awarded another big trophy.

All drivers who took part in the competition were awarded certificates. The top two drivers will compete in the provincial competition that will be held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane today, Friday August 16.
