Mathivha builds clinic for community

MALONGA - A local Samaritan, who is building a clinic in the rural area of Malonga near Giyani, pledged that the structure will be completed at the end of July this year.

Mr Lazarus Mathivha, who is a well-known businessman in Limpopo, has decided to build the clinic. It came after realising that the residents of Malonga are travelling long distances to get treatment at other clinics.

Due to bad roads and the lack of proper transport, they cannot get proper treatment, said Mr Mathivha. "It is shocking to see a pregnant woman travelling on dangerous roads to the Davhana Clinic," he said. It was reported recently that one of the women delivered her baby when she was on her way to the clinic in Giyani.

A pensioner, Mrs Marubini Mudau, told Mirror that, if she is ill, she doesn't think about a clinic because she cannot walk so far. She also stated that she is relying on a mobile clinic which visits the area once a month.

The donor, Mr Lazarus Mathivha, told Mirror that he received instruction from God to help the community. "It does not mean I have a lot of money to do so. I just want to fulfil the commandment. I'm so happy because my family allowed me to do so. I promise the residents of Malonga that, at the end of July this year, the structure will be completed."
