News  Date: 11 June 2004

THOHOYANDOU – International calls that appear on the Telkom statement of Mr Khorombi Muthambi of Thohoyandou Black J on May 12, 2004, are causing confusion for the family.

The statement reflects that Mr Muthambi must pay R674,64 and what baffles him is the international calls to Ethiopia, India, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Pakistan that are reflected on the statement.

"I never phone overseas and I do not have any relative in one of those countries," he said.

The call to Ethiopia costs R31,47, the one to India costs R66,67, the one to the Netherlands costs R21,60, the United Kingdom call costs R174,48 and the Pakistan call costs R228,61. The total cost of these calls is R522,83.

Muthambi said that this is the first time anything like this has happened. He reported the matter to Telkom in Thohoyandou and they are researching what had happened
