GIYANI - The police in Giyani arrested a 30-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon following the tragic death of his wife.
The incident took place at Mageva Village near Giyani on Monday night. According to the police spokesperson in the area, Capt. Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased's body was found on Tuesday morning inside the room in which the suspect and her husband had slept.
The statement indicates that there were six visible stab wounds on the deceased's head. The deceased's husband was arrested after his failure to explain to the police as to what could have killed his wife despite the fact that they had been the only two people inside the room.
The man was charged with murder. He was still to appear in the Giyani magistrate court at the time of going to press. The deceased was identified as Mrs Lucy Moloko (23) of Mageva settlement.
* In anther incident, the police in the area have opened an inquest docket following the death of a resident of Ntsuxi Village.
The incident took place at Ntsuxi Village last Thursday night. According to the police statement, Mr Magezi Harris Baloyi (51) and his wife went to bed peacefully the night before the incident. The statement indicates that during the night the deceased, Magezi Harris Baloyi woke up and went to another hut.
His wife waited for sometime before she became suspicious that something might have gone wrong with her husband. She then followed him. She found his body hanging on the rafters of the hut with a rope. The motive for the death was still a mystery at the time of going to the press.
