VUWANI - Last week on Friday, many readers of Mirror were shocked to see the dilemma of Mrs Nyawasedza Munarini from Dindela, whose RDP toilet is sinking into the ground.
The ward councillor for the area, Mr Khamusi Mauba, thanked Mirror for revealing the situation. He also stated that he found out that the toilet is sinking as a result of a fountain in the yard. The bricks used to build the inside of the pit are mud bricks, instead of burnt bricks, he said.
Mrs Munarini denies that her yard is situated near a fountain and that mud bricks were used. "I'm not mad. All the structures on the premises were built with burnt bricks. If there is a fountain, why are the other structures not sinking into the ground as well? I have been living here for ten years, without any incident. No, the builders used more sand than cement, which is not good," she said.
"It is true we agreed that they are going to rebuild the toilet soon. But my problem is that I do not have more money to buy more bricks to build the pit foundation," said the devastated Munarini.
In conclusion, she thanked Mirror for taking care of her. She was aware that Mirror is helping poor people. "This really shows that you're the people's paper," she said.RDP toilet is sinking into the ground
