TSHIVHULANA – The community of Tshivhulana in Vuwani, Limpopo, is still shocked by the untimely death of a 24-year-old lady who was found in her bedroom last Wednesday morning in a pool of blood.

According to police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavanamadi, it is alleged that her boyfriend, Mashudu Nndwambi (29), stabbed her several times in the face and chest. Mushavhanamadi added that Nndwambi has already appeared in court on the murder charge, but the case was postponed.

Mushavahanamadi added that the deceased was the accused's girlfriend, but that they experienced some problems. A scuffle allegedly ensued on Tuesday, the day she came back from Gauteng where she was pursuing her tertiary education. The two had apparently been dating for a long time and both their parents knew of their affair.

It is alleged that she wanted to end the affair, but Nndwambi was not satisfied with the new arrangement. It is said that the accused entered the room of the deceased, and after a while a heated argument attracted the attention of the domestic worker, who works in the home. It is reported that she called the neighbours, who came and begged the couple to open the door, but Nndwambi refused.

It is said that by then the deceased was groaning with pain. After several minutes, the room was quiet and they then opened the door, to find the young lady in a pool of blood. According to the police report, the accused went through the window and proceeded to the police station, where he handed himself to the police.

"He told us that he had killed his girlfriend with a screwdriver and that he had left her in her room," said Mushavhanamadi. Nndwambi will again appear in the Vuwani Magistrate's Court for a bail application.
