MPHENI – The Waterval SAPS have arrested a 46-year-old man and opened a case against him for allegedly having had sex repeatedly with his 15-year-old daughter since 1999.

According to a police statement, the suspect had been having sex with the victim since 1999, until the victim decided to report the man to the police last Sunday. The suspect was arrested on the same day and will appear in the Waterval Magistrate's Court soon.

In a similar incident, a 67-year-old male was arrested by the Waterval SAPS last Tuesday for having sex with his 15-year-old daughter. The suspect is a resident of Chavani Village.

The police statement indicates that the suspect was living with his 3 children after getting custody of the children after divorcing his wife in 2000.

This incident came into light after the victim related the incident to the local clinic. A social worker was called and the matter was reported to the police, who opened a case of incest. The suspect was arrested on the same day.
