TSHIVHULANA – Mrs Constance Maano Muthambi (65) has proved that study is not only for the younger generation. This grandmother recently obtained her Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET) certificate from the University of South Africa.

She passed Mathematics and Communication English Level I with flying colours.

Mrs Muthambi told Mirror that she started with the course last year. "We were initially fifteen who started the course, but on the way some of the people lost interest. Today I can read, write and talk with anybody," said an enthusiastic Muthambi. She said she is planning to enroll with Damelin College soon, and further her studies in Communications.

Mrs Muthambi is a government employee at the Department of Water Affairs at Vuwani.

According to her, she had achieved great things in life. "The young people must remember that age is only a number, and dedication is the only thing that counts."
