GIYANI – Cllr SV Mathye is the chairman of the recently-announced Geographical Name Changes Committee of the Mopani District Municipality.

According to a statement by Adv MJC Maake, the municipal manager, some of the committee's responsibilities will be to ensure that there is proper consultation and co-ordination of information regarding the changing of names of places within the district.

The other members of the committee are Cllr OJO Groenewalt, Cllr MF Mongwe, Cllr PP Rammabi, Cllr KS Malatji, Cllr B Selopyane, Chief DW Dzumeri, Chief MJ Sekgopo, Chief MA Malatji, Chief MB Maake, Mr SE Maake, Mr ME Maluleke, Mr Tony Long, Rev SPH Khosa and Mr DH Mbhalati.

The launch of the committee will take place at the Community Hall in Giyani on Tuesday, August 5, at 10:00.
