THOHOYANDOU – The acting CEO for Safa West Region in Limpopo, Philbert Ndobe, was found guilty by a disciplinary committee on a charge of assaulting a female colleague.

During the hearing, which was held at the Safa regional offices in Thohoyandou on Sunday, Ndobe was fined R5 000 for assaulting Tsakani Mahuntsi, the Castle Regional League Co-ordinator. However, R3 000 of that amount was suspended for five years, while R2 000 is payable within three months.

This follows an incident that took place immediately after Bafana Bafana's game against Ivory Coast. Ndobe assaulted Mahuntsi, while she was trying to stop him from fighting with an unknown man, with whom he was arguing over a vehicle parking space.

The DC was headed by Messrs Ndivhuwo Thavhana, Thivhonali Khorommbi and Jerry Davhana, the president of the Sports Council in the region. Ndovhe, who was suspended from his acting position as the CEO, went back to the office on Monday. He also went for an interview for the same position that he is temporarily managing, on Tuesday.

Six of the nine expected people, including Ndovhe, availed themselves for the interviews. Some of these people were DJ Thilivhali Muavha, Elvis Booi, Phumudzo Mutangwa, Daniel Vukea and Khamusi Sigama.
