Leigh part of Cash and Rocket Tour for charity

Ms Leigh Bristow, the founder of the Sumbandila Scholarship and Ridgeway College in Makhado (Louis Trichardt), will be taking part in the Cash & Rocket Tour which starts in Barcelona on Thursday, 13 June. 

The Cash & Rocket Tour will start from the exciting centre of Barcelona, move to the famous crosiette in Cannes, through the cobbled piazzas of Florence and end in one of the most romantic cities in the world, Rome. Each stop holds an exciting event, hosted by partners on route. The 2013 Cash & Rocket Tour has partnered with Valentino, Loewe, Bentley, Cavalli, Maserati, mophie, David Morris and Julian Macdonald, Maison Veuve Clicquot, as well as Vault Couture and Vitaviva.

The Cash & Rocket tour is about inspiring woman getting on the road together to raise funds for charity.  Leigh will be joining the tour alongside a select group of truly inspirational women from the worlds of fashion, music, business, art, film and international royalty, who will all be driving red cars.  She will be driving an Aston Martin with co-driver Samantha from the Tusk Trust.  The funds raised will be donated and distributed among three charities, namely Sumbandila Scholarship Trust, OrphanAid Africa and Shine on Sierra Leone.

Andries joined the Zoutpansberger and Limpopo Mirror in April 1993 as a darkroom assistant. Within a couple of months he moved over to the production side of the newspaper and eventually doubled as a reporter. In 1995 he left the newspaper group and travelled overseas for a couple of months. In 1996, Andries rejoined the Zoutpansberger as a reporter.
