HA-MACHABA - Two innocent young women experienced sheer terror last Saturday night, when a man gained entry through their bedroom window and mercilessly hacked them with a panga.

It is alleged that the man's accomplice waited outside in the darkness of the night during the incident. The shocking occurrence, which the police described as the worst that was ever reported locally, sent shockwaves through surrounding villages, as superstitious individuals suspected that it was an act spiced with satanic intentions. After a village meeting, unfounded rumours were flying that the suspect had been sent by some evil source to get blood from their victims.

The victims Mapule Mokasha (21) and Mavis Mokasha (24) were in tears when they recalled the scary experience they had during night. They were alone at their home and Mapule said she was the first to be awakened up by strange noise from outside their window. She heard a creak, as window was forced open.

Before she could alert anybody, a man jumped into the room. According to her, it was too dark to identify the man, and then she was struck with a terrible blow on the forehead. She added that she feel own and felt dizzy and could not get up.

She then heard Mavis' screams and it became obvious that her assailant was on her.

The man then mysteriously left the house. The police followed the foot prints from the yard till they arrived at a house belonging to Davis Seleka. He was found there and taken into custody. During his appearance in court, the case was postponed to September for further investigations.

Mr Thomas Sebetseba, father of victims said he is extremely upset and shocked by the incident he said his children were always on their own most of the time, as he and his wife spent most of time in Gauteng where they are employed.

The two injured sisters are at present in a serious condition in the Mangkweng Hospital.
