LOUIS TRICHARDT – The truth that any person can promote himself and create his own opportunities was shown clearly by a tightrope acrobat-cum-singer last week when he simply span a wire between two buildings and started walking on the wire.

Moses Musemwa obtained permission from a shopowner in Burger Street to span his wire as a tight rope approximately two and a half metres above the ground. He quickly drew a crowd by his amazing balancing skill and the stunts that he performs with a rim of a bicycle wheel on his head. All this was done while walking in his socks on the tight rope from the one building to the other. To complicate matters he performed dance moves on the rope and sang to the music of his cassette that he released early in May.

Musemwa is known to his fans as Moso-Moso and his cassette is titled Lovhilingana Sango meaning "The world is mixed up". He uses his acrobatic skills to promote his album.

When asked who taught him to walk on a thin wire high up in the air Moses replied: "I am self-trained. I use the skill to draw attention to my music."

A large crowd gathered on 22 May to watch him at the spot where he appears a couple of times a month for their entertainment.

The spokesperson of the shop (BJ Foods) says that they are happy with the performances of Musemwa on their premises because it is conducive for their business to partner with an entrepreneur of his quality.
