THOHOYANDOU - A multitude of people gathered at Thohoyandou Apostolic Faith Mission to pay their last respect, to the late Catherine Matse Vukeya.
People from different spheres of life like senior government officials, doctors, school principals and teachers, magistrates, advocates, business people and others attended the funeral.
Vukeya, a former schoolteacher was hailed for her involvement in community projects like looking after the welfare of the abused and the troubled children especially those in Doorfontein Twilight in Johannesburg.
The former military ruler of Venda, General Gabriel Ramushwana, who spoke on behalf of the family, said they were proud of what Vukeya has done while she was still alive. Vukeya was laid to rest at Mbaleni, a graveyard for the ordinary people as she requested before her death.
