WATERVAL – "I was starting to get used to the situation since my sweetheart's death, but some people are making me feel the loneliness by frequently calling me and asking about my husband's whereabouts."
These are the words of Mrs Vusiwana Florence Mmethi of Waterval, the widow of the late Mr Percy (57) "Sonnyboy the boss Leseba Petrus" Mmethi, as he was known. She appealed to community members to stop asking her about the whereabouts of her husband, who passed away on April 17. "People just call and asking me where my husband is, and even if I tell them that he has passed away, they keep on calling. I hope they will stop hurting me once you publish this," she said.
In 1986, the late Mr Mmethi was staying at Vyeboom drift (Mmethi Motors) about 8 km from town. He then moved to Waterval in 1997. His health started to deteriorate in 1999.
He was buried in the Waterval cemetery on April 24.
Mrs Mmethi appeals to customers who had brought in their vehicles to come and fetch them before the parts will be stolen. "I can not continue with the scrapyard, because I know nothing about motor mechanics," she said.
