THOHOYANDOU – Robbers surprised members of a money-lending scheme by approaching them while they were busy collecting money at an ATM in Thohoyandou last Friday morning and robbed them.

According to the police, three suspects approached four unsuspecting officers of the money-lending scheme while they were busy withdrawing money from their customers' cards at the ATM last week Friday morning.

The suspects robbed the officers of R55 000 in cash they had already withdrawn, ATM cards, and their cellphones.

The suspects also shot one of the victims. Two of the victims were abducted and later dumped at Thathe Vondo Dam where they were found naked after they had been robbed of their clothes.

Police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, said they were appealing to anyone with information to inform the police so that they can make arrests.
