Budding and seasoned artists from Musina can now speak with one voice after the formation of the Musina Creative Arts and Entertainment Forum. The forum was launched during an entertainment-filled activity which was held at Renaissance School's sports grounds at the weekend.
According to one of the founders of the forum, Reekie Moyo, the aim of the forum is to expose and promote local artists and to give them equal opportunities to realise their potential. He said the idea to establish the forum was conceived three years ago, but it could not hit the ground because local artists were not united. “It took us a long time to approach local artists individually, until each one of them understood the importance of forming this structure. We are now happy that our dreams have today been turned into reality.”
Moyo says the forum will also help to unearth new talent in the Musina municipal area. “We have a lot of talent that still needs to be developed in our area. We will conduct road shows to make sure that even those who do not know us are made aware of what we do. We will definitely take Musina arts up to the next level.”
He jubilantly said about the launch: “We made sure that all artists from Musina were part of the launch, so that they also show the community what they can do. We are happy about the support we got from our local artists and we have no doubt that we will continue to enjoy the same support from them.”
Moyo also thanked hundreds of community members who attended the free concert during the launch of the forum.
