The Musina show grounds overflowed with fun lovers as high-profile local and national artists entertained people during the annual Musina show.

Big names that left music lovers crying for more included Zahara, Rebecca Malope, Colbert Mukwevho, DJ Complexion, DJ Zinhle, Zozo and Sengere Super Beat and Dr Malinga.

What makes the show more memorable is that no single incident of crime was reported. Municipal spokesperson Wilson Dzebu said the annual show was an overwhelming success, due to the fact that the municipality had not outsourced it. “Last year, the show was run by an external service provider and we had several complaints from members of the public. We had to make sure that we restored the pride of our people by organizing a vibrant show this time. We are satisfied that we have achieved our goal of taking back the Musina Annual Show to its former glory days.”

One of the fun lovers who attended the show is Robert Ramphabana, who said: “We are happy to note that our municipality cares for us. We really enjoyed the show and we wish it could come twice per year.”

Thousands of people also crossed the border from Zimbabwe to South Africa to attend the event. This is due to the fact that the Musina Municipality in South Africa and the Beit Bridge District Rural Council in Zimbabwe signed a twinning agreement of friendly relations and cooperation on 29 October 2004. The relationship is also aimed at strengthening relations and co-operation in areas around service delivery, economic development, tourism and corporate governance.

Up-and-coming entrepreneurs also had a splendid time marketing their small businesses to the public during the annual show. “The show also provided an ideal platform for small business to network with government institutions, companies and other organisations, which may consider appointing them as service providers,” said Dzebu.
